An afternoon of readings by Caspar Heinemann, Georgia Horgan and Karen Di Franco, who have all written new texts in response to Lee Lozano's infamous boycott of women.
Karen Di Franco is a curator at Chelsea Space and a doctoral researcher with Tate Britain and Reading University researching embodied iteration in artists’ publishing. Recent projects include the group show, ORGASMIC STREAMING ORGANIC GARDENING ELECTROCULTURE (co-curated with Irene Revell), at Chelsea Space, London (2018). She writes and has produced digital translations of the archives of institutions and individuals including Book Works and Spike Island.
Caspar Heinemann (b. 1994, London) is a writer, artist, and poet. Their interests include critical occultism, gay biosemiotics, and countercultural mythologies. Recent events include a US tour and readings at the Baltic Triennial, BAK Utecht, Camden Arts Centre, and KW Berlin. They have exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw, David Roberts Art Foundation - London, Cabinet Gallery - London, and Outpost Gallery - Norwich and been a guest at Chelsea College of Arts, the University of Reading, the Sandberg Institute, Goldsmiths, and HEAD, Geneva. Their first book of poetry, Novelty Theory, is forthcoming from The 87 Press. They were born in London, UK, roughly 2.5 months after the release of Green Day’s seminal album Dookie.
Georgia Horgan (b. 1991, UK) lives and works in Glasgow. Her work explores histories of labour, gender and sexuality. She is interested in how representations of the past, and its protagonists, sustain cultural and political norms, and what a feminist strategy for re-writing history might look like.
Lee Lozano (1930–1999, USA) was an artist working in New York until the early 1970s when she disengaged from the art world and moved to Texas. She is widely known as a painter and conceptual artist who investigated issues related to the body and gender.

Do you keep thinking there must be another way is a group exhibition that addresses strategies of representation, resistance and withdrawal. Including installation, painting, performance, text and video, the exhibition considers behaviours towards and in opposition to presiding power structures.
Do you keep thinking there must be another way is curated by Cicely Farrer, Daria Khan and Jessica Vaughan.
