Mimosa House presents "Liquid Lunch", an evening of performances and screenings as part of our new exhibition Zoe Williams: Sunday Fantasy.

Hosted by the 4 artists featured in Zoe William's new film; Amy Gwatkin, Deniz Unal, Nadja Voorham and Zoe Williams, this event responds to themes within the film, drawing on their own work as well as other artists' films.
The event will run as follows:
Screening of Chick Strand's 'Soft Fiction', (1979) (54 minutes)

The film Soft Fiction creates a complex portrait of female subjectivity and sensuality through poetic documentation and lyrical abstraction.

Screening of AnnaMaria's Pinaka's, 'Bycatch', (2019) (5 minutes)
Bycatch is a video work consisting of archival and selfie footage of the artist and her grandmother; it maps a discussion on the ethics of love and an attempt to navigate this by putting their images in correspondence with each other.

Performance by Nadja Voorham
Jessica, Jessyca, I call your name and it rings in my ear as my own. A piece on performed and constructed surfaces and the leakage of desire and pleasure through them, through the gaze.

Screening of 'Risk Assessment', by Amy Gwatkin, (2013), (11 minutes)
Risk Assessment was the first foray into moving image in an almost decade long project using Craigslist to find models. The film comprises three interviews with anonymous men about their experience of being naked on camera.
