Screening of Ulrike Ottinger’s film Ticket of No Return followed by discussion led by writer Paul Clinton, along with artist Zoe Williams and filmmaker Amy Gwatkin - the two co-directors of Sunday Fantasy, a new film currently showing at Mimosa House.
The conversation will explore the influence of Ottinger's film on Sunday Fantasy, focusing on common themes of hedonism, excess and pleasure as well as the control of women's bodies and behaviour.

Ticket of No Return by Ulrike Ottinger (1979)
A wealthy and mysterious woman buys a one-way ticket from Paris to West Berlin with the intent to drink herself to death.
She wanders through the odd landscape of the city, completely drunk and dressed immaculately.

Paul Clinton is a writer based in London, UK, and lecturer in curating at Goldsmiths. For four years he was senior editor at frieze magazine, and he now writes for frieze, London Review of Books, MOUSSE, Art Review, Art Monthly and many other publications. His exhibitions and public projects include 'duh? Art & Stupidity', Focal Point Gallery, Southend-on-Sea, 'Stupidious', South London Gallery, 'Art Cinema', Konsthal Charlottenborg, Copenhagen, 'Forbidden to Forbid', Galerie Balice Hertling, Paris, and 'Militant Desire: Lionel Soukaz and Sexual Liberation Today', at Gasworks and LUX Artists' Moving Image, London. He is currently working on several books, of which Other Hunting will be published this year in a limited edition from Ma Bibliotheque.
Zoe Williams (b.1983). Lives and works in London and is represented by Antoine Levi Gallery, Paris. Her practice incorporates a range of mediums including moving image, ceramics, drawing and performance. Through these elements she is primarily concerned with creating immersive instances and environments which, holding a veneer of seduction, seek to access the cerebral through sensual experience.
Amy Gwatkin is an artist working in film and photography. Since graduating from University of Brighton she has worked in a variety of short forms, including performance documentation, fashion film and narrative fiction. She is currently developing her first feature length work after taking part in FLAMIN's New Approaches scheme. Previous works have premiered on Dazed, Nowness, and at LSFF and Underwire festivals in London, and shown internationally in Amsterdam, Barcelona and Berlin.
