Join artists Alyona Tokovenko and AntiGonna, and one of the exhibition’s curators Daša Anosova for a talk-performance on amulets and omens, how they work in the context of war and displacement, and why artists are actually magicians.
The talk-performance will last 30-40 minutes, followed by an audience Q&A.
AntiGonna will elaborate on her live art piece “Performance by Clitoris”, while Alyona Tokovenko will join in the conversation on artistic powers to turn images into symbols.
At the talk, Daša Anosova will present Oberih - a publication that serves as a fundraising project for people affected by the war in Ukraine. it is a collection of stories about things that accompany us everywhere and provide solace and protection in all circumstances, and the book features a very special object by one of the artists.
It will be possible to purchase Oberih book for a minimum donation of £20. Sales of the book will fundraise to support the purchase and distribute vital medical & hygiene supplies to the recently de-occupied Kherson city and villages nearby (Myrolyubivka, Antonivka, Bilozerka, Zymivnyk).
The exhibition continues Wednesday – Saturday 12–6pm, until Wednesday 31st May 2023.
